The Village Vuchkove. The monument to the bee. Geyser.

The village Vuchkove (ua: Вучкове) Mizhgirya district is located at an altitude of 359 masl. Among the places of interest are the monument to the bee, geyser and mineral source in the tract near the village and the longest bridge in Mizhgirya district.



The monument to the bee was established in 2006 in beekeeping farm near the village center. It is dedicated to four founders who were studying the famous bee-karpatki which differs from other species by its exacting and resistance to "bee diseases", high efficiency and productivity. The monument was erected in honor of the 40-year anniversary of work of studying the bees in this region. This monument is a monument with a marble plate on which Avetisyan Gurgen Artashesovich, Gubin Vadim Oleksandrovich (ua: Губін Вадим Олександрович), Davydenko Ivan Kuzmich (ua: Давиденко Іван Кузьмич) and Yuryk Ivan Ilyich (ua: Юрик Іван Ілліч) are portrayed. Above the plate is a big metal bee which weighs several kilograms and with wingspan in half meter. Just behind the monument is a huge apiary.

The main attraction of the village Vuchkove is a real geyser in the tract "Petrovets". Geyser is located on the bank of a mountain stream.



15 years ago Ukrainian steel plant has had in its plans to buy the area around the geyser and build on it the recreation complex. The geologists who came to study the geyser "stuck" the pipe in it and made the outlet channel in the side of the stream. Till this time, a geyser was erupting jet up to 5 meters in height at certain time. "Eruption" was about 10 minutes. The water was warm and very salty and there were salt deposits on the bank of the stream.



Now the geyser is erupting 5 meters jet and the water is just salt and cold. Some local people say that the geyser erupts every 20 minutes while the other residents say that 4 times a day.



At 20 meters from the geyser on the opposite bank of the stream there is source with a very tasty mineral water which is under a huge stone. The water is not salty as in the geyser so you can drink it.



The source is very popular among the local population. The clergy is not squeamish of tasty water.



Also there is the longest bridge in the village Vuchkove Mizhgirya district. Its length is almost 92 meters. It was built to replace the old one which was damaged by flood. The bridge was being built during 5 years because of lack of finance. By the way, is it located at the place where was the famous "salt way" to Shandrivskij salt deposits on the territory of present- day village Oleksandrivka (ua: Олександрівка) Khust district. Previously, when there was no bridge across the river the boats were used. The first bridge was built in 1870. The previous reinforced concrete bridge stood for 45 years. The last 92-meters bridge was built in 2006.

Once there was a wooden church of St. Peter and Paul in the village Vuchkove. It was built in 1794 and then dismantled in 1930.
