Smerekovyy stone. Part Two.
It is the continuation of the article about the visit to the regional landscape park "
Enchanted Land" (ua:
Zacharovanyy kray) on the territory of which the geological reserve of national importance "
Enchanted Valley" (ua:
Zacharovana Dolyna), more popularly known as "
Smerekovyy stone". The beginning is
here.
And here are "hooks and loops". The eye can clearly see several vectors of lifting climbers. "That is complicated one, but this is easier", says Andrew.
I look up and make few photos of "Zub". It is wood around and it is difficult to make a decent shot "at full length" in any way.
I turn my head a little to the right and notice a small spur of rock, like a head ... of a small animal of some kind. This is "
the head of chess knight", said our guide.
We continue to move up the trail. The landscape changes again. The path winds among the dense thickets of
blueberries (local:
yafyna). It is visible how the blueberries even are growing "on the stone" in the photo below. It is a remarkable sight.
We stopped for lunch near a waterfall called
Shumylo. Our guides fry bacon fro us, pour wine and a little home brew. All drink. Even drivers do. The temperature has dropped substantially, legs are trembling with fatigue. Alcohol with bacon breathes the impulse of new energy into our tired bodies. It becomes funnier. While bacon is fried I make few photos. The photo does not convey the true size of waterfall. There are few stages in which water is rapidly rushing.
It is view from above. One more cascade is visible. By the way, volcanic-sedimentary rocks are on the right of the creek, and only volcanic are on the left. It is the feature of this locality.
We finish the meal and keep moving. Another rock is visible behind trees. Trees are again hampered the foreshortening. But the size is guessed of branches. Rock formation is called "
Throne stone" (ua:
Tronnyy kamin). In fact, but "
Lower Throne Stone" is in the photo below.
It is a depressing and sometimes frightening scene. A huge rock overhangs the footpath. You are going, constantly staring at the top whether something is not falling on your head. As a result, many people stumble, tripped over small stones on the trail.
We go around the cliff to the right and start climbing the steep path to the "
Upper Throne stone". Why is it "Throne stone"? They say that one of the ledges on the cliff top is like the throne. I have not checked. It was too steep ascent.
We notice a small cave on the halfway up the rock. There is one more beyond the edge of the photo. The top of the rock is like old teeth of a giant.
"Turn around and just tell me what you see", said our guide. I turned around. "I see a muzzle", I said. "It is true, this is the
Guardian of Enchanted Valley", they answer.
We pass 10 meters and encountered the glade of mushrooms. A white signs on hats are "thrown out" pores due to night frosts. "It is edible" said our guides, and push mushrooms in their backpack quickly.
The entire trunk of an old tree is of mushrooms on the top. We cut everything that was younger and moved on.
We pass a few steps and such a "cep" turns in the hands... it looks ugly, but the soup will be grand in the winter...
