The church in the village Roztoka. Part one. Good story.
The village
Roztoka (ua:
Roztoka, union:
Rostoka, outdated:
Roztoka) Mizhgirya region is located at an altitude of 680 masl and is known of its Church of the Vvedenie (Introduction) of the Blessed Virgin. It was built in 1759.
Let`s start with the good story. At first, there were four bells in the church. Two bells of which were blessed and two were gifted (given). In fact, the church was of 17th century and was originally of "boykov style". As historians say the date "1759" which was carved on the door, is the date when the church was rebuilt and became more like "Lemko style. The "Glubokoe" ("Deep") porch was once opened but now it is "closed" with glassed veranda.
A wooden belfry of18th century is near the church. Its construction (design) is very popular in Mizhgirschina.
The icon "Annunciation" was gifted to the church in 1709. Some time ago a few masters partially changed "gont" ("shingles") into new one on the church.
And this is a small house on the outskirts of the church area. It is for daily living needs.
