The castle of Kvasovo

As part of the research expedition, hardly working off investors’ money in the direction of "Transcarpathian kvass" of the grant "Unique Beverages of Carpathian Rus" founded by Lviv branch of the company "SAN InBev Ukraine", we went to the village Kvasovo of Berehovo district. The village is situated on the river Borzhava, and its only attraction is the "Kvasovskyy castle", or rather its ruins.

Wine tasting in the village Kidyosh

Not for hangover but for gourmet delights to local lore, we went on a visit to the village Kidyosh (formerly Zmіivka), situated near the town of Berehovo. We recovered at the invitation of the winemaker family Shosh (it is translated from Hungarian as "Eagle"), who has won this year's grand prize at the regional wine festival in the town of Mukachevo.

Water Mills of Imstychevo village. Part Two.

The continuation of the article about the water mills of the village Imstichevo (ukr: Іmstychovo). It is told about the operating water mill in the first part of the story and about two abandoned mills, where necessarily evil spirits can be found, located just above the creek.

Water mills of Imstychevo village. Part One.

I have to travel a lot around Transcarpathia with local history tasks and get to see a lot. But it is for the first time I meet several water mills in one village. Yes, exactly three water-mills are located in the village Imstychevo of Irshava district. All of them are located in a small village Bystryy, which is situated 3-4 miles from the center of the village. Unfortunately, only one of three mills is running now. One more has been recently abandoned, but its parts are used as "spare parts" for the remaining working mill. The third one is completely collapsed. The "water wheel" and the skeleton of the walls are only remained.
