The village Lipovets, Perechyn district
The
village Lipovets (ua:
Липовець, sk:
Lipovec, hu:
Hárs) Perechyn district is known to all the citizens of Transcarpathian region by its «Betonka» (military road which is covered with concrete slabs). It starts in this village and leads to the top of the valley (polonyna) «
Rovna» (ua:
полонина Руна). It starts with "Betonka" (two slabs) before the village then outside the village it turns into a "three slabs" road and near the first destroyed military facility point (3,5 km) which was ruined from the time when it was the old military barrack, the road again transformes into "two slabs" one. The total length of "Betonka" is about 7 kilometers. The road is almost destroyed. A lot of people are trying to drive to the top of the mountain by cars and then retell the stories of breakdowns and other "troubles".
To get to the valley (polonyna) «Rovna» you can use the way from the village Lipovets or go on the forest road from the camp "Polonyna" in the village Lumshory. The second way is more interesting because of beautiful landscape on the road and a unique "
Komsomolskaya lake" (the old name was Vel.Trustsya or "Rustya ") which is in the middle of the road.
The village Lipovets is not really so interesting for tourists as for example the
neighboring village Likitsary. Nevertheless, the monument of nature "
Lipovetsky Rocks" (two very beautiful rocks of andesite-basalts of Neogene age and the remnants of a volcanic eruption which is above the stream on the road at the fork in the road Likitsary / Lipovets) belongs to this village.
There is a grocery store in the center of the village as the example of the Soviet construction.
The village barns are built in peculiar style. The masonry walls are without a binder solution. The wooden roof is at the top. It is simple and unusual.
There is a new church on the hill above the village. The architecture is also unusual it is not similar to conventional canons.
There is an amazing building a little further the center of the village. It is the old wooden house which was remade as the shed. Look at the roof, the corners of the building and protruding from the wall supports overlapping "the second floor". Wow!
We come closer to the half-open door and show the local harvest. There are several pumpkins and one of them is rotten.
And this is the end of the village. It is «Betonka» (three slabs). It reaches the first sloping site near the destroyed military barrack in a few kilometers. By the way, there is somewhere near the barrack another attraction of the village Lipovets and it is a healing source. It's called "
Tsarska krynytsa" ("Tsar's Draw-well") (ukr:
Царська криниця). Popular rumor tells that the water from this source helps for infertility.
By the way, in Transcarpathian region there is some other popular place for tourists and historians. It is called Lipovets village and it is in Hust region. There is unique hydrological monument of nature. But information about it will be a bit later.
