Last Lenin of Transcarpathia
This is the
last monument to adult Lenin in Transcarpathia. It stands in the town of Chop in the nursing home of railway men, built by
Kirpa (let the land rest in peace to this man).
The monument was moved from the central town square of Chop, where it was dismantled, to the territory of the nursing home. One more (to young Lenin), stands near the entrance to the palace of Betleni in the town Berehovo. More recently, there were 4 monuments to Lenin in Transcarpathia. Some time ago, two of them were dismantled in Tyachiv. In the village of Hanych the monument was taken by a local inhabitant, not to be handed over to scrap.
I am very glad that I’ve found still existing statue of Lenin. All the points, which I’ve visited earlier, been informed that in those places the last statue of Lenin was, and turned out to myths. Somewhere Lenin was dismantled recently, approximately back in 1991.
