The castle of Kvasovo
As part of the research expedition, hardly working off investors’ money in the direction of "
Transcarpathian kvass" of the grant "Unique Beverages of Carpathian Rus" founded by Lviv branch of the company "SAN InBev Ukraine", we went to the village Kvasovo of Berehovo district. The village is situated on the river Borzhava, and its only attraction is the "
Kvasovskyy castle", or rather its ruins.
Judging by the purity of the territory, the castle has been put in order recently - all the bushes are cut down, the weeds are cut. According to the words of historians, the ruins had a pretty sad sight before cleaning - a small hill, with remains of walls, overgrown with tall grass and shrubs and sandwiched with structures from all sides. A historical note:
The ruins of the castle in the village Kvasovo (old: Kvasove) of Berehovo district. It is a typical knight's castle. This fortress controlled the land "salt way" and exit from Borzhavska Valley. In the sixteenth century the castle owner Paul Motuznay repeatedly robbed local peasants and lords. As a result, the Hungarian nobility Diet in 1564 made the decision to destroy the castle, and confiscate the property of the owner in behalf of the state.
A bit of photo material:
One of the castle walls
It is the famous hole in the wall in the form of "eye". There is reliable information that the hole appeared in the wall thanks to local vandals who destroyed the wall "in search of treasures" in many places, after a gold chain was found.
Once, a few years ago, when a walnut, growing beyond the wall was not so high, and from that point photographers could shoot a breathtaking view - the church in the "eye" in the background of forest. Now it is only a distant similarity of a literacy perspective.
It is a view of the "eye" from the low angle of the church side
Actually, here is the church not far from the castle ruins
And here is such a beauty growing on old stumps around the castle walls that was carefully gathered in the quantity of one bag, and fried with potatoes for dinner in the evening.
