The village of Bukovtsevo. Part One.
Actually, the aim of our visit was not the village
Bukovtsevo itself (ua:
Bukіvtsyovo, V. Bereznyy district), but the wooden church - the
Church of St. Anne with a belfry, which was built in 17th century and then rebuilt in the 18th. Nevertheless, not yet entered into the village, but adrenaline was pumped into the blood on the narrow forest road with a lot of wells without fences and road signs, we realized that a walk through the village was going to be no less interesting.
And it was accurate. We did not have time to enter into the village as on the right the hut appeared with a pointer of distances to major cities in the world, in which exactly some kind of hippie lived, one of whom, a young guy, was washing jeans in the tub. Increasingly, I notice that than farther the village is into the mountains, its architecture is more unique. There are more dugouts, a special layout of houses, sheds, which are not similar to those that we can see in the valley.
Here is, for example, one of the houses which has pleased the eye. It is small, compact, surrounded by stone.
And here is the barn which is mined with soil. This fact will often be evident during a walk through the village.
It is a house on the hill. The half of the house, airbrick, is painted in white) another half - boards (brown).
At that once you pay attention, because it is the silence. On Sunday morning the village is though dead. There is no a soul. Occasionally a dog barks and an old cat crosses the street slowly and freely. One of the scenes is complete psychedelia. We hear music from afar. Think - oh, it is just dancing in the club. Go round the bend, and there is a bag in the middle of the road, in which a cassette tape recorder plays. And there is no a soul.
And here's another worthy example of architecture of a pale green color. To paint the walls in that color, thrifty villagers add a little green fodder into a solution. And then we can see that, some of the houses are pale-green, the others are pale blue (added household "blue" to a solution) in the village.
It is a fontanel nicely laid out with stones. I was surprised how many of them were in the village. In every 30 meters you can see an underground stream designed as a "drain", and there are two wells in a glade in front of the village.
Such dugouts can sometimes be found right on the edge of the road. They are abandoned. Actually, there are a lot of abandoned houses in the village. Some of them are boarded up, and some are simply collapsed. It is a sad spectacle.
Sometimes you meet the following "advanced cellars", with a shed on the second "floor".
Well, actually, here is the territory of the church. It is traditionally for the churches in separate villages, to be situated on the territory of an old abandoned cemetery, about what many mounds evidence, combined some regularity in the arrangement. The old belfry with three bells inside is in the photo.
There are three "fresh" graves on the territory of the church. According to the words of passing-by woman - each of the buried has earned that right. One of the graves is of the cantor, whole her life she was at the church. The second grave is of the Ringer, who has been ringing the bells at the church during 40 years. The third one is of an old woman, who has helped the church during whole her life, embroidered, weaved, and she gave everything to the church.
Two fir-trees grew near the church. Each one was 150-200 years old. Few years ago they were cut down, because there was a threat that they might fall down into the bell tower and church when it was a wind.
