Arpad Line. Shelter on the Uklin Pass.

The most convenient route to visit dozens of objects of the Arpad Line in Volovets area is the passage through the pass Uklin, named after the village with the same name, to the villages Verkhnia Hrabivnitsa and Podpolozye. The biggest amount of the objects is situated here. Your trip should be followed by a visit to the tract “Maidan”, belonging to the village Podpolozye, but located quite far from it.



The first object is located exactly on the pass. Nowadays it is difficult to say what it used to be, but the fact that the building served as a shelter, or a storage, but not a firing point, is indisputable. The skeleton of metal doors and some ledges-shelves inside are clearly visible in the picture.



The next picture is a view from the entrance to the distant part of the object. On the left we can observe the fittings and the entrance into the second small room.

Here we see the deepening in the second mini-room. It is hard to determine its function now. Most likely, it solved the drainage problem.



And this is the ventilation outlet – the cast steel construction buried within the reinforced concrete.



Concrete bumps on the ceiling. The “anti-sever” construction, made of corrugated iron, was once installed over them.
